ECG On-Demand's work recognised at the 2017 MediWales Awards

The Joint Clinical Research Facility at Swansea University has won the Research Excellence in the NHS Award at the MediWales Innovation Awards with the support of ECG On-Demand. 

Professor Julian Halcox acknowledged ECG On-Demands contribution to the publication of the REHEARSE AF Study in Circulation when accepting the Research Excellence in the NHS Award on behalf of the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board and Swansea University Medical School.

Technomed wins High Court judgement that its database rights and copyright have been infringed by a competitor

Competitor found to have copied Technomed's work.

David Stone, sitting as High Court judge, found that a commercial competitor had infringed Technomed's intellectual property rights by replicating substantial parts of Technomed’s ECG On-Demand® (formally ECG Cloud®) ECG reporting system. Of particular concern to Technomed was the replication of their ECG risk stratification and report generation database which Technomed had invested substantially in.

ECG On-Demand® provides cardiac data analysis for the REHEARSE-AF Study

Results show four-fold increase in AF detection rate compared to control arm

Julian P.J. Halcox of Swansea University Medical School has published results of the REHEARSE-AF study in Circulation. The randomized controlled trial of AF screening used an AliveCor Kardia monitor attached to a WiFi-enabled iPod to obtain ECGs (iECGs) in ambulatory patients. The trial demonstrated that regular twice-weekly iECG screening is highly acceptable to people >65 years of age at increased risk of AF and stroke and results in an almost 4-fold increase in the diagnosis of AF over the course of a year.
Technomed’s ECG On-Demand® service was used to provide remote cardiac physiologist analysis and to collate electrocardiographic (iECG) data.
